Join the Arts Team!

On any given week, the College is sure to host lectures, plays, musicals, dance performances, concerts, recitals, art shows and video screenings. Often held by Vassar students themselves, these events are frequent and varied—and it is the job of the Arts section to cover them.

Arts reporters typically feature previews of upcoming shows and performances and are encouraged to delve deeply into the rich arts culture on campus. Other areas of interest for Arts reporters are the art and studio art departments, Arts news at peer institutions, as well as reviews of performances after they are given.

Reporters working for the section also have the freedom to get more creative with their assignments—in the past, Arts has featured an "Artist of the Week" article, as well as columns reviewing national movies and music albums.
