Have a good eye for grammar and style? Join the Miscellany copy staff, one of the most crucial groups of the paper. The copy staff reviews each page of the newspaper to catch spelling, grammar, style and factual mistakes before it goes to print. Copy Editors, however, are not only responsible for correcting small errors; they play a large role in the shaping and reshaping of the organization of an article—after a piece leaves the hands of a Copy Editor, it is clear, comprehensible and well-structured.
Those interested in joining the copy staff should be willing to learn Miscellany News style and become familiar with Associated Press style as well.
